FAIR USAGE POLICY
Fair usage guidelines for unlimited and unmetered service features.
1. Purpose
This Fair Usage Policy ensures that all customers receive consistent, reliable performance by preventing excessive consumption of shared resources.
2. Resource Fair Use
Unlimited or unmetered features are subject to reasonable fair-use requirements:
- CPU: Sustained usage above 80% for extended periods may require upgrade
- RAM: Consistent usage above 90% of allocation may trigger review
- Storage: Excessive storage growth (e.g., logs, backups) may require cleanup or upgrade
- Bandwidth: Sustained network saturation affecting other customers is not permitted
- I/O: Disk I/O saturation degrading performance for other tenants is not permitted
3. Monitoring & Notification
- Resource usage is monitored continuously
- Customers approaching fair-use thresholds receive notification
- Customers have 7 days to optimize or upgrade before restrictions may apply
- Immediate restrictions may apply for severe impact on other customers
4. Restrictions
If fair-use thresholds are exceeded and not resolved:
- VerticeHost may implement throttling or quotas
- Customers may be required to upgrade to a higher plan or dedicated resources
- Persistent violations may result in service suspension
5. Exclusions
Fair-use policies do not apply to dedicated resource plans (dedicated CPU, RAM, storage) where resources are exclusively allocated.
